CLOTH DIAPER AND HYGIENE PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION | THE CLOTH OPTION

Eligibility

Open to qualifying families who complete the TCO application online or in person; Newborn diapers are distributed as a loan and must be returned to the program before the next size up can be provided; Larger sizes may be kept for as long as the family needs them and then returned back to TCO; Children who are three years old are approved only with accompanying documentation of special needs

Required documents

Application form (if applying online, complete the digital form if applying through a local advocate, print the paper application and bring it to the office or ask the local advocate for a copy), proof of address (may include recent bill dated within the past 30 days current lease or mortgage statement current homeowner's, renter's, or auto insurance policy any official letter or document from a state or federal agency that is dated within 30 days Drivers' licenses not accepted), proof of child (may include birth certificate dated midwife/doctor/hospital documentation dated ultrasound with name if currently pregnant social security card foster placement or adoption certificate), proof of special needs requiring extended diapering, if applicable (one document is required to verify need of extended diapering: dated medical documentation of special needs letter from the child's doctor explaining their condition and their diaper use individual education program from child's school/educational agency that includes diaper use)

Description

Distributes cloth diapers and other reusable hygiene products to families in need, providing support along the way. No income or citizenship requirements for participation in the program.

Provides newborn, one-size, and extended sizes, including diapering of older children with medical needs.

Interested community members can apply for cloth diapers at the website: theclothoption.org/apply. Once the application has been received and approved, the applicant will be contacted by their local advocate to make arrangements to meet in-person to receive the diapers.
