Provides energy assistance to those in need.

Assists with LIHEAP, or the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, applications. LIHEAP supplements the high cost of winter heating for low-income households, provides emergency furnace repairs or replacement for income-qualifying homeowners. Households with income levels at or below 200% of the poverty level are eligible for benefits. Applicants are served on a first-come first serve basis. The application period is from October 1-April 30 for elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30th for the rest of the households. Bring completed application, along with any other required documents, to your local Operation Threshold office. Applications can be picked up at the office.

For those who live in Douglas or Sarpy County and need help paying utility bills, please call Salvation Army's Utility help line at (402) 898-5966. HeatShare is a Salvation Army-Black Hills Energy partnership that provides emergency utility assistance for individuals and families in greater Nebraska.

Offers to assist home owners or renters who have a disconnect notice or have missed a payment on a pay arrangement. Can also assist homeowners who have a back bill. If funds are available, households may receive emergency assistance with furnace repair/replacement (if a homeowner) and/or emergency delivery of deliverable fuel.

Clients need to have been LIHEAP approved during our program year (October 1 through April 30) or they can complete a crisis application.
