COMMUNITY RESPONSE CENTRAL NAVIGATION | COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP OF WESTERN NEBRASKA

Connects youth and families with resources and support. Navigators have the ability to "fill gaps", either through helping agencies partner around a common goal, or through flexible funding for needs such as rent, utilities, transportation, and more.

Community Response is designed to reduce unnecessary involvement of child welfare and juvenile justice while increasing the informal and community supports for youth and families. By utilizing Central Navigation, the goal is to coordinate existing resources and match participants with a resource to either solve an immediate need or develop a longer-term coaching relationship.

LOW-INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (LIHEAP) | C.E.F.S. ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY CORPORATION

LIHEAP (low income home energy assistance program) provides assistance with a utility bill. Applications are accepted November 1 - April 30; for elderly or disabled individuals applications are accepted starting October 1. Income must fall within 200% of poverty guideline. Call for an appointment. A letter has been sent to those who may be eligible for early application in August or September.

**This program is not designed to pay a household's total energy costs. The program will provide supplemental assistance based on several factors. This is a one-time payment to your energy provider.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE | SALVATION ARMY - DES MOINES

Helps those who need assistance with rent, utilities, and clothing. Funds are intended for dire need situations and when no other community resource is available to meet the need. All financial help is by Appointment only. ***Call the 4th Tue of the month to set up an appointment.


Rent Assistance: must have Letter of Decision from General Assistance, cannot reside in a transition housing program, cannot have received financial assistance from IMPACT in the last 12 months, cannot have received material assistance from The Salvation Army in the last 12 months.

Clothing Help: assistance will be in the form of vouchers for either work/interview clothing, back to school clothing, or clothing in general for someone who is homeless.

Utility Financial Assistance: must have a disconnect notice to get financial assistance for a utility bill, cannot have received financial assistance from IMPACT in the last 12 months, cannot have received material assistance from The Salvation Army in the last 12 months.

LIHEAP (LOW INCOME HOME ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM) | OPERATION THRESHOLD

Provides energy assistance to those in need.

Assists with LIHEAP, or the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, applications. LIHEAP supplements the high cost of winter heating for low-income households, provides emergency furnace repairs or replacement for income-qualifying homeowners. Households with income levels at or below 200% of the poverty level are eligible for benefits. Applicants are served on a first-come first serve basis. The application period is from October 1-April 30 for elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30th for the rest of the households. Bring completed application, along with any other required documents, to your local Operation Threshold office. Applications can be picked up at the office.

If funds are available, households may receive emergency assistance with furnace repair/replacement (if a homeowner) and/or emergency delivery of deliverable fuel.

Clients need to have been LIHEAP approved during our program year (October 1 through April 30) or they can complete a crisis application.
