COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAM | EVERYCHILD

Provides trained volunteers and professionals who are knowledgeable about child abuse and general parenting issues. The volunteers are available for scheduled presentations to individual, groups, and organizations. Presentations can be tailored to a variety of audiences. Some topics include: communicating with your child, child development, shaken baby syndrome, positive discipline, signs and symptoms of child abuse/neglect, mandatory reporter training, Talking About Touching (sexual abuse prevention), and the impact of children's exposure to violence.

SEXUAL ASSAULT/ABUSE CRIME VICTIM SERVICES | RIVERVIEW CENTER

Provides free and confidential sexual assault/abuse and crime victim services to anyone that has been sexually assaulted/abused. Off-site/out-of-office services provided include trauma-informed services, counseling/therapy, legal advocacy, medical advocacy, social services and basic needs advocacy/case management, safety planning, 24/7 crisis helplines, and 24/7 crisis intervention at hospitals/law enforcement. Service plans based upon services client wants to receive.

Also provides community trainings in Professional settings and offers Information about Services.

Telehealth is provided for those that need, or would like it.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING PREVENTION EDUCATION | SET ME FREE PROJECT, THE

Travels to schools, youth groups, and communities to empower children and young adults, reaching students from grades K-12.

Presentations to youth, educators, mentors, parents, and social service agencies. Programs include Social Media Safety and Healthy Relationships.

Provides a 6-week program of prevention education to youth considered high risk. A separate and specific curriculum educates parents, educators, mentors, service providers, and community members to help keep youth safe.

Curriculum for adults include educators, law enforcement agencies, first responders, social service providers, healthcare professionals, retail and food service employees, religious organizations, PTA groups, and more.

IOWA DOMESTIC ABUSE PROGRAM (IDAP) - FIRST JUDICIAL DISTRICT | IOWA DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONAL SERVICES - FIRST JUDICIAL DISTRICT

Provides a 24-week domestic abusers education program.

-- For men in Waterloo, the intake/orientations are held the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month at 4 pm and the 3rd Friday of the month at 9 am. If the intake session falls on a holiday, it is held at the same time in the following week. Located at Waterloo Residential Correctional Facility.

-- For women in Waterloo, the intake/orientations are held the 1st Monday of the month at 3 pm. If the intake session falls on a holiday, it is held the same time the following week. Located at Women's Center for Change.

ABUSE AND CRISIS INTERVENTION SERVICES | DOVES PROGRAM, THE

Provides abuse and crisis intervention services to those going through a domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or sex trafficking situation. Services include a family violence crisis line, counseling or counseling referrals for survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault, emergency shelter and transportation, peer support groups, and child advocacy.

Protection order assistance, criminal justice/legal advocacy, and medical advocacy are also available to those who may need it.

Support group for victims of domestic violence. Open to anyone who is experiencing or has experienced abuse in an intimate relationship, including individuals who are still involved in the abusive relationship. Transportation available.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES | HOPE CRISIS CENTER

Temporary emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and accompanying children. Emergency needs such as food and clothing can be provided while in shelter, if needed.24 hour crisis line provides support, info and confidential emergency services available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Client advocacy is available to help support individuals through crisis, such as assistance in applying for Department of Health and Human Services economic assistance programs, finding a new place to live, or for emotional support and talking through options.

Legal advocacy provides assistance with filing domestic violence and harassment protection orders, legal referrals, help in finding legal representation, and court accompaniment.

Medical advocacy offers referrals and accompaniment as needed.

Bilingual advocacy provides immigration information for victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. To reach a Spanish-speaking advocate, contact the Spanish line or stop in at the Crete office to speak with a Spanish-speaking advocate.

Information and referrals provided regarding assistance outside of Hope Crisis Center.

Community education programs offered free of charge on topics such as: domestic violence, sexual assault, bullying, good touch/bad touch/secret touch, teen dating violence, date rape, violence in the media, sexting, domestic violence and the effects on children, sexual assault and the effect on children, and others.

DOMESTIC/SEXUAL ABUSE AND VIOLENT CRIME SERVICES | ACCESS (ASSAULT CARE CENTER EXTENDING SHELTER AND SUPPORT)

Provides free and confidential support to victims of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, and homicide or other violent crimes. Advocates meet with clients where the client is in Boone, Greene, Marshall, Story, and Tama counties. A 24-hour crisis hotline and shelter for victims of domestic violence are also available.

Housing Access offers a multitude of services and programs to assist survivors in gaining permanent housing.

PARTNER ABUSE INTERVENTION PROGRAM (PAIP) | BRADEN COUNSELING CENTER

Offers Partner Abuse Intervention Program, (P.A.I.P.) is most often completed by individuals who have been accused of, or have engaged in, abusive behaviors with a significant other. This program focuses on resolving the root of the problem to help with long term change. Program is designed to help clients unlearn problematic behaviors, and understand why they are problematic, so you can have healthy relationships in the future. Healthy communication, respect, and conflict resolution are focused upon during the program.

Voluntary home visiting program that strengthens families, supports healthy child development, and fosters resilient communities through evidence-based home visiting.

Improves child and family well-being, increases parent protective factors, and reduces risks associated with adverse childhood outcomes, such as behavioral/emotional difficulties, child maltreatment or family involvement with the child welfare system, poor academic performance, early substance use, and ongoing family instability.

Services are relationship-based, flexible, and tailored to each family's needs.

IOWA DOMESTIC ABUSE PROGRAM | DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONAL SERVICES - SIXTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT OF IOWA

Offered to individuals (men/women) who are convicted of Domestic Abuse Assault within the Sixth Judicial District. Programming includes an intake/orientation session followed by group attendance. There is an alternative program for people with severe mental disorders, medical concerns, or other uncommon factors which require individualized services. Those appropriate for this group include: Court ordered clients, referrals from DHS and those who volunteer.

TRUANCY PREVENTION | REGIONAL OFFICE OF EDUCATION #44 (MCHENRY)

Coordinates an ongoing program to assist the region's schools in requiring good school attendance. The Truant Officer works with schools and parents to intervene early and resolve school attendance problems. Partnerships formed among the Regional Office, the McHenry County State's Attorney, and McHenry County Court Services have served the community well in resolution of school attendance issues.
