The County Sheriff's Office provides the 9-1-1 Emergency Dispatch service for the county. The 24-hour 9-1-1 line is staffed by trained personnel who assess requests for emergency assistance and dispatch the appropriate emergency response agency (law enforcement, fire, paramedics). This office also dispatches the First Responders in Garnavillo, Garber, Elkport, Volge, Littleport, Farmersburg, and St. Olaf. This office also provides law enforcement and investigative services, traffic control, and weather and road information.

This office provides 24 hours/day, 7 days/week emergency dispatch for emergency response. Call to access First Responders in the following towns: Hawkeye, Waucoma, Wadena, Clermont, West Union, Elgin, Arlington, St. Lucus, West Gate, Hazelton, Fayette and others.
