AREA II DISABILITY SUPPORT SERVICES | OFFICE OF HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (OHD) CENTRAL OFFICE

Community-based services and support to persons of all ages with developmental disabilities.

Residential program includes staffed group homes for youth and adults, supervised apartments, and independent living arrangements.

Vocational training and employment services through a supervised training center (HUB), which includes on-site contract work, work stations in industry, supervised employment programs, and job coaching. Additionally, High Plains Employment Services concentrates on job readiness and securing employment.

Year-round educational program is available to children through contractual arrangements with the school district.

Respite care may be available, call for details.

Intergenerational Center, 1406 14th Ave, for individuals who have reached retirement age. Clients are served through an alternative day program that emphasizes recreation, leisure, and maintenance of daily living skills. Alternative day services are also available for other adults whose needs do not include vocational or employment goals.

VOCATIONAL OPTIONS PROGRAM | CUNNINGHAM CHILDREN'S HOME

Offers to assist youth and young adults to become independent through. Providing support, career exploration, assessment, and planning skill development for workplace employment through nationally recognized certificates. Assistance for accommodations needed for success in employment. Job coaching and placement provided as needed.

Work locations are selected to best suit the interests or vocational training needs of each individual. Business partners are established in Champaign, Mahomet, Rantoul, Urbana, and throughout Champaign County where our youth and young adults reside.

The two main goals of these services are to give the individuals the opportunity to earn competitive wages and allow these wages to be earned in an integrated work setting.

Provides vocational training for persons who require a higher level of care than is available through other Hope Haven programs. Individuals receiving services must have a primary diagnosis of a mental disability and must be certified by the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care to be in need of this level of service.

This service also helps individuals identify and strategically use state/federal work incentives that best align with their work goals. DAY SERVICES AND COMMUNITY LIVING | SOUTH CENTRAL DEVELOPMENTAL SERVICES

Services at the Day Services Center focus on senior activities, assisting individuals to develop volunteer roles in the community and meeting individualized needs.

Employment training is provided at the Day Service Center and at on-site job opportunities throughout the community.

Community living is provided to persons living in residential units operated by SCDS, to persons living with families or in their own homes.

Support is provided as necessary to meet the individual's needs and to assist them in being a participant in their community.
