SENIOR PROGRAM | JEWISH FEDERATION OF THE QUAD CITIES

Jewish seniors who are home-bound or in nursing homes are visited on a regular basis, and rides are provided to ensure they get to doctors' appointments, pick up prescription medicine, and/or go grocery shopping. During Jewish holidays, the Federation provides programming to nursing homes around the area. Companionship and socialization is a priority with the Senior Program.

A senior group that meets throughout the month for fun, socialization, and fellowship. A calendar of events is posted on the Township's website.

Transportation is available for Hampshire and Burlington Township residents; must call ahead with at least 72 hours advance notice.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS | SPECIAL OLYMPICS IOWA

A non-profit organization that uses sports training and quality competition to provide people with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to participate in a larger society where they are accepted and respected. Special Olympics Iowa currently serves 11,000 athletes and sports partners in all 99 counties in Iowa. Training and competition is offered in 23 different sports throughout the year.

SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS: Challenge Days are specially designed events using switch activated equipment for athletes with the most severe and profound physical and intellectual disabilities. Unified Sports is the pairing of athletes with intellectual disabilities and those without on the same team. Athlete Leadership Program (ALP) is designed to train athletes in literacy and speaking skills to enable the athletes to serve as public speakers, board members and other leadership roles in the community. Healthy Athletes is a screening program promoting greater overall health and fitness for the athletes. "Young Athletes" is an introductory program offering play day activities and socialization skills for children with intellectual disabilities between the ages of 2 and 7.

YL Capernaum for youth with disabilities ages 13-21. Meets Thursday evenings at West Hills Church.

Beyond Capernaum for young adults with disabilities ages 22 and older. Meets Tuesday evenings at Lakeside Hills Clubhouse.
