Day psychiatric program, adult partial hospitalization.

Psychiatric home health provides in-home nursing assessment, occupational therapy to assess functional skills, psychology to assist with behavior plans for caregivers, and social work to provide in-home psychotherapy.

Home Based Mental Health Services
Provides residential treatment and 24 hour supervision for adults with chronic, persistent mental illnesses who are in need of supervision. A nurse is available around the clock (by phone after business hours); there are 9 beds available for mentally ill adults at the Oakland Avenue site. Referrals are taken by Laura Courtney-Brubaker (282-3808, [email protected]) during regular business hours.

Access Center is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for admission or other inquiries. When contacting the Access Center by phone or walking in, individuals are first evaluated by a mental health professional who will identify presenting problems. After consultation with a psychiatrist, potential patients will be matched with appropriate care within the hospital's programs or with other community resources.

Access Center offers Psychiatric Crisis/Emergency Assistance. All services through the emergency Access Center are of no cost to the patient or the referring party.

Adult Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Program for ages 18 and up, provides Voluntary Services and Emergency Protective Custody/Involuntary Mental Health Board Committals.

Hope and Recovery Subacute for Adults, ages 18 and up.

Adolescent Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Program for ages 13-18.

Outpatient clinic offers Medication Management and Psychiatric Assessments/Evaluations for adults, adolescents, and children.

Tele-health conferencing available for Mental Health Assessments, Assessments for Crisis Intervention, and Medication Management.

Offers evaluation and treatment to patients who are in an acute phase of psychiatric illness or are experiencing an emotional or life crisis. Each patient's individual treatment program is headed by a psychiatrist who directs professional staff members in a multidisciplinary team approach to help the patient understand their illness and treatment.

Offers an intensive, 24 hour behavioral health care facility to help adults, children and adolescents with behavioral health disorders or co-occurring disorders. The program is designed to help individuals achieve mental stability or long-term stability. Patients receive a clinical evaluation at admission. This allows care providers to help the patient create a personal treatment plan that targets their needs and goals.

Behavioral health includes short-term acute inpatient psychiatric treatment for individuals 18 years and older. Provides co-occurring treatment (dual diagnosis) for individuals with a substance abuse/chemical dependency problem who are also experiencing a psychiatric disorder.

Admissions conducts assessments, identifies treatment needs, identifies the least restrictive treatment environment, and transfers individuals to that setting in the least amount of time. The program is designed to conduct thorough psychological evaluations and physical exams, and to begin a medication and treatment regime.

Forensic Mental Health Services (FMHS) provides a 128-bed male treatment facility which serves the State of Nebraska for individuals mainly involved in the legal system. It is comprised of two distinct programs, listed below:

Sexual Offenders Community Residential Program provides comprehensive treatment to individuals who demonstrate a pattern of sexually deviant behavior. The 85-bed male patient population includes convicted sex offenders who are offered treatment and patients committed by a mental health board. In addition, five of the beds are for female sex offenders. Aftercare services are also provided for individuals who have successfully completed the treatment program and are reintegrating into the community.

The Whitehall Program for adolescents who have sexually offended provides residential levels of care. Referrals are accepted for males ages 12-18. The program is family-centered and community-based. The program is located near the Wesleyan University campus and in the community. Contact the program by calling 402-471-6969.

Forensic Psychiatric Services provides a 43 beds, evaluation and assessments for individuals as ordered by the Nebraska legal court systems.

Psychologists and therapists with specialized training work with children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Offers treatment for depression, anxiety, relationship issues, adjusting to life changes and many other areas including the shock, anger, grief, and other emotions than can accompany a medical diagnosis or chronic health condition (health psychology).

Outpatient services offered includes psychological evaluation; individual therapy; transitional services from inpatient and partial hospitalization; cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia; and specialty surgery evaluations such as bariatric surgery evaluations.

Provides round the clock, sub-acute, medically managed care for those 11-18 years of age.

Offers 24/7 stabilization, evaluation, detoxification treatment services, and on site psychiatric and professional medical care. Initial assessment with psychiatric staff will occur within first 24 hours to determine appropriate level of care. Active therapeutic programming to stabilize patients with acute behavioral or psychiatric symptoms.

When appropriate, access to Rosecrance Jackson's inpatient substance use program and outpatient substance use and mental health services will be provided.

Psychiatric Medical Institute for Children: a PMIC facility for emotionally disturbed children between the ages of 10 to 17 and is operated by Orchard Place, a private, non-sectarian, non-profit corporation. Orchard Place can accept children of average or potentially average intelligence who evidence a desire for help and a willingness to make a commitment to treatment. No child is denied admission on the basis of race, religion, creed, or residence.

Includes individual therapy for each child, recreational and group therapy, medication monitoring, pediatric and nursing services, family therapy; and therapeutic living relationships to enable living with self and others. Education provided through Des Moines Public Schools.
