Provides economic development, transportation information, minority business development, community information and referral, legislation and public affairs, agribusiness information, newcomer information, research, workforce development strategies for business, and community development.

Business membership association offers retail development, recruitment of new retail businesses, tourism promotion, real estate development, tourism retail items, gift certificates for Shelby County, promotions, festivals, local community events and attractions.

Assists businesses in expanding their operations and aides entrepreneurs in the creation of new businesses. Furthermore, the program aggressively markets Des Moines to attract new businesses to the city, provides management and business training, provides business financial assistance, develops commercial and industrial growth opportunities throughout the city.

Fosters economic development within the county and local communities. In addition to recruiting new industries to locate in Fillmore County, the Corporation also works with retention and expansion of existing businesses and industries. The FCDC is also one of the county's lead organizations on issues such as transportation, leadership, housing, and tourism.

Provides information on the State of Iowa concerning community development, business development, international trade and investment, Iowa tourism and state energy office.
