REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT PROGRAM | CATHOLIC CHARITIES - DES MOINES

Offers to resettle individuals who have been forced to flee their home country because of war and persecution. The program provides newly arriving refugees with intensive support services needed to achieve basic self-sufficiency as contributing members of the community, including housing, employment and educational placement.

FOOD PANTRY - TEFAP PROVIDER | DECORAH COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY

Decorah Community Food Pantry provides free food including canned products, meats, produce and dry goods; household items including cleaning supplies, paper products; and personal hygiene products may available. Donations of products and cash accepted. Individuals and families may visit once a week. People select their own items amount based on family size. This is a participating TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) food pantry. Enrollment into TEFAP is confidential and requires proof of address and identification. Individuals participating in the FoodShare, School Nutrition Program, WIC, or Senior Meals programs may participate in TEFAP without impacting their ability to qualify for those programs.

CLOTHING SERVICES | CENTRAL IOWA SHELTER AND SERVICES

Offers clothes for adult men and women of all sizes as well as shoes, coats, hats, gloves and other warm clothes. Open to the public.

DONATIONS ACCEPTED include seasonal clothing, coats, rubber gloves, towels, blankets and bedding, personal care, first aid supplies, cereals, eating utensils, books, magazines, cards, games and silverware. Drop off anytime Monday through Friday.
