CENTRAL CITY REPAIR PROGRAM | HABITAT FOR HUMANITY QUAD CITIES

**Applications available starting March 1, 2025.**

Offers exterior repairs to porches, minor carpentry, and limited repairs to roofs and siding. Also provides critical home repairs, minor electrical work, and minor plumbing.

Weatherization work provided for windows, gutters, doors, and storm doors.

Provides smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.

Provides accessibility ramps, grab bars, railings and steps, limited flatwork, and limited bathroom modifications.

Unable to help with major renovations, foundations, and HVAC systems.

Serving households up to 80% of HUD Income Guidelines.

HUD Income Guidelines for 2024:

1 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $50,150;

2 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $57,300;

3 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $64,450;

4 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $71,600;

5 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $77,350;

6 person household: Max Household Income (gross) $83,100.

URBANDALE CARING CORPS (UCAN) | URBANDALE COMMUNITY ACTION NETWORK

Offers services such as transportation assistance (doctor's appointments, grocery store, hair appointments, etc.), help with yard work and minor home repairs. All services are provided by volunteers in the community.

*The office is located in the Lion's Park Shelter House at 72nd and Prairie Avenue.

HOME REPAIR AND REHABILITATION SERVICES | REBUILDING TOGETHER - STEPHENSON COUNTY

Rehabilitates the houses of low-income homeowners (particularly the elderly, disabled, and families with children) so that they may continue to live in warmth, safety and independence. All work is provided free of charge to the homeowner. Referrals come from health and human service agencies, community and faith-based organizations, service groups, case managers, and individuals. The homeowners, if physically able, work with the volunteers in the spirit of neighbor helping neighbor. Home assessments determine a home's eligibility based on national and local criteria.

Repairs vary from painting and trash removal to minor repairs such as electrical or plumbing work. Smoke detectors and new locks may be installed. Home modifications and accessibility needs given priority. The repairs must be able to be completed in one day; no major structural repairs and no tree removal.

HOME REPAIR PROGRAM | EAST CENTRAL INTERGOVERNMENTAL ASSOCIATION

Provides a program that makes health and safety improvements to homes to those that income qualify. There are several programs that a homeowner or renter can participate in, including a program to assist families with young children. Homes built before 1978 pose a risk of lead paint and our Lead Paint and Healthy Homes program makes the home lead safe while also making other improvements.

MINOR HOME REPAIR | FAITH UNITED METHODIST CHURCH

Provides minor home repair services. This includes, but is not limited to, repair on things like, doors, windows, handrail installation, furniture, painting, siding and interior construction that doesn't require licensing (no plumbing or electrical work).

BRUSH UP | HOMEWOVEN

Exterior house painting for homeowners 60 years of age or older or Immigrant and Refugee families. Restrictions include houses no larger than two stories, must be structurally sound, and not in need of major repairs.

Applications are available from January to May. Prep work will happen during July and a volunteer team will paint on a Friday or Saturday in mid-August.

HOME REPAIRS | SHELBY COUNTY COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Small home repairs for the elderly, disabled, and low-income individuals of Shelby County.

Call for assistance on a specific job and make an appointment for SCCO to evaluate the project, gather the needed supplies, and perform the work.

Service calls usually last between 30 minutes and 2 hours, depending on the number and type of jobs being worked on.

Homeowners are responsible for the cost of materials, while the labor is provided on a donation basis.

The Elderly & Disabled Housing Repair program assists income eligible seniors (age 62 and older) and disabled Sioux City homeowners who are in need of home repairs.

The program typically provides repairs to, but not limited to, the following:

Assists property homeowners, who need a small home repair completed in their home in McHenry County. Senior Services maintains a pool of volunteers and service organizations that are able to help with small handyman tasks and yard maintenance.

Staff can also provide a list to connect seniors to preferred professional service providers and individuals for private pay who have consented to a background and reference screening process. This list is a reliable substitute to choosing an unknown service provider from the phone book. Preferred providers are available to perform general home repairs and odd jobs, plumbing, window washing, waste removal, lawn maintenance, snow removal, etc. Based on availability, financial assistance may be an option for seniors who qualify."

Housing Fund (Rehab) - Loans are available to income-qualified homeowners in Region XII COG communities for home repairs to eliminate health and safety hazards, including windows, doors, roofs, furnaces, etc.
